Bertolonia maculata
Bertolonia maculata is a small blackmouth plant (Melastomataceae) from Brazil. The leaves are about 6 to 8cm long and 4 to 6cm wide. It remains very flat, the leaves form a rosette on the ground with a diameter of approx. 20cm and are velvety olive green with light green markings. Fresh leaves are reddish and then darken over time. The leaves are bristly hairy on both sides. It blooms with numerous pink flowers that gradually open. The flower stalks grow to a height of around 15cm.
