Neoregelia schultesiana (Striped Fireball)

€8.99

This one is quite small Neoregelia from the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. Individual plants grow to a height of around 15cm and reach a similar diameter. This form has white leaf edges that take on a pink hue when exposed to high light. The green parts of the leaves do not turn quite as intensely red as the classic 'Fireball'. Its flowers are purple, but it rarely blooms. It forms its children on quite long rhizomes, which means that over time it forms a nice, dense stand but not clumps. It is particularly popular in terrariums for poison dart frogs, where it fits perfectly with its bright color but compact growth.

You will receive a mother plant with 1 to 2 children in a 5cm round pot. Perfect for tying up or planting out in the terrarium.
